History of the Midwest Gassers and Midwest Doorslammers
Nineteen years ago, in 2005, Dominic Blasco and Mike Etzorn had a dream that became a reality and the Midwest Gassers began as a racing team at the legendary Great Lakes Dragaway with approximately a dozen founding members. In the intervening 19 years, it has become a team of at least 45 drag race loving team members now including the Midwest Doorslammers.
In 2008 Bob Lehor became Race Coordinator and has brought both teams to success and, of greater importance, to exhilarating family racing.
We are excited about the upcoming racing season and expect 2024 to be the best ever.
